David came home to the Olson family in 2015 when he was seven years old. He had virtually no language but is highly intelligent and has thrived in a language-rich environment. David is meticulous and reserved. On a mission trip to Cieneguilla, Peru, in 2021, David heard Timothy share his salvation testimony. Although he had made a previous profession of faith, he could not recall ever being saved. After dinner the same night he began asking questions and realized he did not know Christ as his Savior. He received Christ at the children’s home that first cared for Amanda as a baby. As we travel, people are surprised to meet a deaf young man with so much understanding. People are drawn to David. His testimony shows that investing in teaching the Deaf is a worthwhile investment. |
